Physical Education

At St Michael’s we encourage and engage every pupil with physical activities and sporting opportunities. The skills they will learn allow them to choose to lead healthy, active lifestyles and prepare them physically to take part in physical activity throughout life. We strive to provide children with a supportive and challenging PE curriculum that is age and skill level appropriate and will allow children to develop a range of values that link closely to our whole school mission statement. PE, School Sport and Physical Activity can build character, confidence, self-belief and determination. It help us interact socially, developing communication skills with team mates and opposition alike in our local and extended communities. Our children are able to develop persistence, teamwork and discipline through sporting experience and the opportunities we provide our children to compete in local and regional competitions allows them to be successful, increase resilience and most importantly develop a sense of passion. It will enable our children to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities and provide them with the ability to try a range of opportunities to support development of the holistic child.
